Box for the New Kindle Paperwhite
When I was at Staples recently trying to take advantage of a deal on the new Kindle Paperwhite, I found it was difficult to determine if the packaging was for the first or second generation of the Paperwhite. All the unboxing videos I could find had already removed the outer sleeve, which is the main indicator.
The major differences between the first and second versions are:
- Brighter and more evenly-lit screen.
- Faster processor.
- Greater storage capacity (4GB vs 2GB).
Also, the device itself says “Amazon” on the back as opposed to “Kindle.” This particular packaging contained a Kindle Paperwhite without “special offers,” which I was surprised to discover.
The key differences on the box seem to be the addition of these blue icons on the side.
Here’s a few more photos, in case it helps to determine the difference.
